Being a major Twenty One Pilots fan, you could only imagine my surprise when they realised a new song.
The single was released Thursday (9th April) after frontman Tyler Joseph teased all over twitter about the new material days before. With a series of tweets, he confirmed the new single and that a portion of the money will be donated to Crew Nation.
The song ‘Level of Concern’ embodies a light of hope for everyone facing a difficult time during the Coronavirus Pandemic.
The song and music video brings in a funky somewhat 90’s tune that makes you want to jump up to dance and sing in these hard times.
With an electric guitar played by the lead singer, is something fans of the band have never heard before and we as fans are loving it!
Favourite lyrics from the song such as “Wonderin’, will you be my little quarantine, or is this the way it ends?” and “Tell me we’re alright, tell me we’re okay, Bring down my level of concern”, would make you think listeners would panic but it gives a sense of relief by thinking ‘we are not alone’.
Within the first verse, there is minimal drumming from Josh Dun, the other member of the band and we don’t hear more dominant drumming until the second verse, although the whole song makes you want to bob your head.
Now, let’s talk about the music video. Not only do we see the bands partners, Jenna Joseph and Debby Ryan but we get a feature from Tyler and Jenna’s baby daughter, Rosie.
The music video is just pure wholesome, scenes featuring Josh and Debby sticking glow in the dark stars all over the walls is definitely one of my favourites!
The song is only three minutes and forty seconds, but I have had the song on repeat for hours on end and you will too once you give it a listen.
